Had a co2 leak issue with my bubble counter. So I was sans gas for about a week or so. Things really took a hit. Some BBA popped out and everything really discolored and slowed down. Surprising how fast things can go south.
Jamie, given the look of your tank photos, I don't beleive that is a Green Water algae bloom at all, but a bacterial bloom as a result of ongoing cycling, unstable nitryinig bacter bacteria, insufficient bacteria colonies compared to the amount of ammonia and nitrogens, or using too much Fluorish Excel in the tank. If this is the case, then a blackout has no affect at all, except to hinder the process since the plants photosynthesis would be "turned-off" and the plants will not soak up the bloom, essentially prolonging it!

I have lyre tail guppies/endlers in my 45 litre tank. The adult males are very small barely an inch or so and theirs a fair amount of variety to choose from. The don't really school unless they see me go past the tank.

Mosquito rasbora are very small. A bit too much for my liking but i think they do come in vibrant reds and oranges but they're really tough to come by locally around here

All I need to get at this point in time is the stand and I am having a hard time finding the color and style of rock I want for the 10 gal. I am looking for something long, pointy and rough looking in the colors of cream and yellows. Going to build the stands myself. I have everything else I need. So I was and still am in the planning phase of deciding what fish I want to put in them. I want something very small so I am still deciding. A friend of mine raises the mesquito fish. Very tiny (I think they are the smallest fish available) but they are not very colorful. less
